Kilmallock Cycles has been nominated as one of the top 10 bike shops by Cycling Ireland. This honour of being nominated is due to the hard work of a cycling family who live and breathe cycling with passion and commitment to you the customer.

Paul Gammel, Kilmallock Cycles

Kilmallock Cycles is a family-run bike shop run by cyclists for cyclists. Paul Gammell launched the bike shop over 16 years ago.

Cycling has been a lifelong passion as Paul was a competitive racing cyclist from the age of 12 and raced for 20 years. Now Paul enjoys leisure cycling in cycling leisure tours like the Ring of Kerry or the Wicklow 200k, cycling in the Pyrenees mountains like the famous Col du Tourmalet and many more and has cycled over the most famous mountain climbs of the Tour de France, Paul has cycled th famous Alp d’Huez, Col de Sarenne, Col du Galibier, Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, Les Balcons d’Auris and the tough Col du Sabot.

Paul enjoys Gravel Cycling on Gravel Bike on gravel roads, boreen roads, and any road that has grass growing in the middle of the road. Paul competes in the SWW Limerick and Munster Hill Climb Cycling Championships winning many gold, silver and bronze medals over the years and has an Irish National Silver Medal in the Irish National Hill Climb Cycling Championships in 2013, and many Munster and county cycling championship medals.

Family is important to Kilmallock Cycles and Paul’s three daughters Sandra, Lorna and Michelle who have all helped out over the years to help customers with any queries. Paul’s son John helps in our busy workshop. Paul’s wife Ber supports Paul and gives 100% support to make Kilmallock Cycles one of the best bicycle stores in Ireland. Kilmallock Cycles have built up a great reputation for delivering excellent products backed up by first-class service and excellent repair work. We excel in catering for all customers, from kids to adults and can also provide expert advice on elite bikes.
